Violinist Chu-Yu Yang is active in the United Kingdom and is an important specialist in British music among East Asian players. He joined the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic while still a student. Yang has made freelance appearances across the British Isles. In 2025, Yang released the album An English Pastoral on the Somm label with pianist Eric McElroy; the album includes the world premieres of music by Ivor Gurney and Ian Venables, as well as works by Bliss and Gerald Finzi.
