Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. Playing my first concert - I was three years old and played "Froggy Froggy Jump Jump" on piano. I was elated, apparently!
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Arthur Russell, World of Echo Portishead, Third Non EU Version Radiohead, In Rainbows In Rainbows is just masterful songwriting and even better production - it's as colourful as the cover suggests. World of Echo is just completely unique - nothing before or since has sounded like it. Third is just so mysterious, but yet so minimal.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “This Is Not the Place” I made the instrumental demo for this over a year before I wrote its lyrics. It took my world nearly collapsing during COVID to get a sense of perspective on myself. I wrote lyrics as a future self giving advice to the past, like an older brother.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Playing my first ever solo headline show with my band was a real treat. We played my EP "In Retrospect" in its entirety and some newer unfinished songs. To do so with my closest friends felt like a dream, and we were so proud of what we'd done.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I'd love to work with more people to challenge what it means to make music for me. I'd also love to play more ambitious shows and hopefully get on the festival circuit at some point.
