A spinoff of New Jersey powerviolence group Sick Shit, Gel employs a sound rooted in traditional hardcore punk with elements of D-beat and post-punk. Emerging in 2018, the band's first full-length effort, 2023's Only Constant, elicited considerable acclaim within the hardcore community for its uncompromising sonic attack and positive messaging. Gel kept the momentum going in 2024 with the release of the EP Persona.
