Like other fellow Colombian urbano-pop singers (chief among these Maluma and Piso 21), Juan Duque's material is characterized by a positively romantic tone, as opposed to nonstop aggressive, sexualized bragging. His following has grown steadily thanks to singles such as "+Chimbita" and "X Ti Lo Digo," as well as a publicized romance with actress Lina Tejeiro. 2023 proved to be a banner year in Duque's career, as he had his first big hit with "María," released his debut EP, Qué Momento Pa' Estar Vivo, and embarked on an international tour. His debut album, Mis Traumas, Mis Chistes, appeared in late 2024.
