Acerca de Maya Fridman
As successful performing rock, jazz, and contemporary music as she is playing the classical repertoire, cellist Maya Fridman has avoided rigid categorization by being adaptable to many musical genres. Based in Germany and the Netherlands, Fridman was born in Moscow in 1989, and she was recognized early on as a prodigy, leading to her giving performances on television and radio under the aegis of the International Charity Fund, established by Yuri Bashmet. Fridman attended the Schnittke Moscow State Institute of Music, and she won first prize in the International Festival of Slavic Music. She continued her education at the Conservatory of Amsterdam, where she studied with Dmitri Ferschtman and completed her master's degree in 2016. Since 2015, she has recorded The Invisible Link, Red Velvet, and The Fiery Angel for Trptk. ~ Blair Sanderson
