Multidisciplinary artist Maylee Todd is hard to pin down stylistically. With a roving eye and gently sung vocals, she's bounced from bossa nova-inspired easy pop to disco with a live band, electronic pop to modern R&B and retro-soul. Her 2010 album Choose Your Own Adventure served notice that she wasn't beholden to any one genre, and further releases like 2017's assured Acts of Love jumped happily from sound to sound on each song. 2022's Maloo flipped that formula on its head and delved deeply into science fiction electro ballads with equally impressive results.
