Emerging with songwriting credits that included music for the hit TV show Showmatch in her native Argentina, Los Angeles-based singer and songwriter Mechi Pieretti is known beyond borders for her rich voice and passionate, bilingual pop music. Often incorporating Latin rhythms, since emerging in the mid-2010s, she has released acoustic songs (2018's "Subema la Radio") as well as EDM collaborations and slick, colorful dance-pop (2019's "Conexión").
As a songwriter, Pieretti's contributions to Showmatch in the mid-2010s were followed by Sony Music publishing projects including Benjamín Amadeo's 2016 album Vida Lejana and Fabian Manuk's Manuk. Around this time, she also became a member of the Latin Grammy Recording Academy.
As a singer, Pieretti was featured on Akuna Art's LP Anthropology in 2016, the year she issued her own acoustic singles "Subema la Radio" and "Chantaje." The latter two each garnered millions of streams. The following year brought multiple collaborations with electronic act the Kudu, among others, before she returned with more acoustic solo fare in 2018, including a viral acoustic version of her own song "Downtown." In 2019, she teamed up with dance projects Astrojaxx ("Universe") and WizG ("Back to You") in addition to releasing a fully produced solo pop song, "Conexión." ~ Marcy Donelson
