Michael Egred Mejía, familiar to millions as Mike Bahía, is a Colombian singer known for his uplifting style of pop and reggaetón.
∙ He got his big break in 2013 when he appeared on the TV singing competition La Voz Colombia, where he performed a cover of Maroon 5’s “This Love.”
∙ Before focusing on his solo career in 2014, Bahía spent seven years as lead singer of the rock band Capsula.
∙ Inspired by his longtime romantic partner, actress and singer Greeicy Rendón, Bahía’s debut single, 2015’s “Buscándote,” was an immediate hit, reaching No. 1 in Chile.
∙ Greeicy and Bahía have been frequent musical collaborators since their 2017 No. 1 hit, “Amantes,” releasing such songs as “Esta Noche” and “Si Tu Amor No Vuelve.”
∙ In addition to singing, Bahía has appeared in the 2016 drama series La Niña and the telenovela Francisco el matemático: Clase 2017, for which he also wrote the theme song.
∙ Bahía took home Best New Artist honors at the 2020 Latin Grammy Awards.
