Biografía de este/a artista
Formed in Edinburgh, Shooglenifty quickly drew a strong fanbase with their energised, contemporary roots material. By 1995, Shooglenifty were playing at the Hogmanay celebrations in Princes Street Gardens in Edinburgh in front of an audience of 250,000. Their 1995 debut album, VENUS IN TWEEDS, won BBC Radio Scotland’s Best Folk Album Of The Year award while the follow-up the next year, A WHISKEY KISS, broadened their following beyond folk music circles. After a four-year hiatus the band returned with SOLAR SHEARS and survived personnel upheavals to release THE ARMS DEALER'S DAUGHTER on their own label, a mere year later. A live album preceded the release of 2007’s TROOTS, which featured guest vocals from Inuit throat singer Tanya Tagaq Gillis.
