Claiming themselves "indie roots" and backing it up with mandolin, banjo, and harp, the Americanos are from Toledo, Ohio. Formed in 2008 by singer/songwriter A.J. Szozda and guitarist Mick Mason, the duo later added upright bassist Steve Knurek, then multi-instrumentalist Tom Goodwin, who was skilled on everything from accordion to zither. The group made its official debut in 2012 with the album Redempted Sinner. ~ David Jeffries
