Debuting with a pair of 2015 EPs, Australian producer Jordan Alexander quickly developed his lo-fi house jams into more intricate, sophisticated creations. But even as he relocated to club-filled London, his prolific releases as Mall Grab have still packed plenty of wonky turns and a trend-averse outsider vibe. Alexander’s firm grasp of hypnotic rhythms and winking retro touches can be heard across his 2020 remix EP for Baltimore hardcore heroes Turnstile. He continues to flex different stylistic muscles, mining prickly techno on 2019’s Growing Pains EP and euphoric house on 2021’s Caribou-esque “Love Reigns.”
