Natasha Khan, known as Bat for Lashes, became an overnight indie darling with her first LP. 2006's Fur and Gold sounded more like the work of a seasoned songwriter than a newcomer, showcasing an eclectic mix of dream pop and baroque influences, as well as Khan's haunting vocals and gorgeous, sweeping melodies. She's since experimented with complex soundscapes on 2009's Two Suns, a philosophical fable for which she invented an alter ego, and stripped her music down to the raw emotions on 2012's The Haunted Man—all while remaining one of the most compelling voices around.
