A staple of the UK festival circuit, Scotland’s Twin Atlantic served up some of alt-rock’s most buzzing releases throughout the ‘10s. Debuting with Vivarium’s temperamental pop punk and emo bangers, the band developed a knack for heady choruses across four more albums. Foot-stomping anthem “Heart and Soul”, from their top 10 LP Great Divide, pumped up arena crowds as they veered towards more straightforward rock and pop offerings. Increasingly, they turned to their hometown of Glasgow for inspiration. The city’s sweaty dance scene also defines much of the crew’s synth-laden later explorations.
