From the depths of South London comes the distinct grime of Krept & Konan. Since emerging in the late '00s, the pair have cut their heavily accented cadences with the Chicago drill sound of tough drum loops, booming basslines, and murky flows. Take “Don't Waste My Time” and “Last Night,” on which sinister keyboard riffs and ghostly synths encapsulate their menacing manifesto, while the warbling “Wo Wo Wo” finds the group testing themselves on Georgia-style trap. But Krept & Konan have a party side too, as heard on the bouncy synths of the Jeremih-featuring good-time jam “Freak of the Week.”
