This trio of vocalists emerged from the explosive electro-tropical dance scene in Colombia with 2006's Somos Pacifico. Reaching into their African heritage while drawing inspiration from urban Latin culture and its colourful street language, ChocQuibTown blend Afro-Latin rhythms with heavy dancehall beats, producing propulsive dance music ripened by heavy bass, percolating percussion, swinging horns and skanking guitar. They complement each other with rich harmonies and trade male and female leads as the songs demand, whether singing a melodic salsa chorus or delivering a rapid-fire rap.
