Soft glow in the corner

Shadows on the wall

Quiet in the evening now

Outside it starts to fall

Pages turning slowly

Words I can't quite keep

I'm lost between the lamplight and the edge of sleep

Lamplight shining low and warm

Guiding me through this quiet storm

It flickers on till the night is gone
