My Need (A Great Savior)

Long I lived with longing in my soul

Is there more than what these eyes behold

Is there meaning in the myst'ry of these days

Or do we just burn bright, then finally fade away

Endless searching, seeking to know truth

Then I heard the welcome of good news

And the way my desperate soul could be at peace

With the Holy Other who made me, oh

Praise the One who came to seek and save

Praise the One whose Spirit called my name

Jesus who became my sin

Died for me and lives again

Now I'm free

I had a great need for a Savior

And I have a great Savior for my need

I wrestled if there's really just one way

Just one Life, one Truth and just one name

That I had to call upon for saving grace

Oh I prayed, I cried, I fought my way to faith

When I fail

He is faithful to restore me

I am held within His mercy
