Hiphop Tamizha once again live up to their name—the duo’s soundtrack to tongue-in-cheek romcom Mr. Local is a riot of festivity and chock full of thick beats. Take opening salvo "Takkunu Takkunu", where the inimitable Anirudh Ravichander's youthful voice carries an electro melody alongside tabla and flute; or the disco-inflected "Menaminiki", with Benny Dayal and Snigdha’s rapid wordplay and exuberant choruses are underscored by trilling trumpets and sax. It's only fitting that the title theme is a barn-stomping, trap-flecked track worthy of this infectious celebration.
