For his Winter Warmers mix, Matthew Halsall turned to a cozy, relaxing, and reflective place of escape from the season’s harsher elements: the listening bar. “I wanted to share the music I love to play in beautiful audiophile bars and clubs such as Spiritland in London, Kasheme in Zurich, RIAA in Hamburg and Rush Hour in Amsterdam,” he tells Apple Music. “As a composer, producer, and DJ, I’m naturally drawn to the meditative/spiritual side of music. I listen to a lot of jazz records from both the past and present and love to join the dots between the sounds from the ’60s and ’70s with the freshest music that’s being released today.”
