The activities of the chamber choir Ensemble Altera extend into several forms of outreach in addition to concert performances. The choir was founded by countertenor Christopher Lowrey, who remains its director. Ensemble Altera offers fresh programming that includes many contemporary works. Signed to the Alpha label in France, the group has released several albums there, including Dazzling Light (2025).
