Anycia rhymes over Detroit-influenced and trap-styled productions in a casual way that sounds like a phone conversation, though close listening reveals wordplay that is among the most assertive, confrontational, and braggadocious in contemporary rap. "Kimora Lee," the Atlanta native's casually scathing first single, was released in 2022, and she has progressed steadily, with the breakout "BRB" (originally featured on Extra, an EP issued in 2023), the Karrahbooo collaboration "Splash Brothers," and the Latto-assisted "Back Outside" all leading up to 2024's Princess Pop That.
