As the vocalist and keyboardist for Brooklyn post-punk outfit Geese, Cameron Winter is part of one of the most buzzed-about groups of the mid- to late 2010s, synthesizing decades of guitar-forward rock styles in a band that started when its members were in high school. On his debut solo album, 2024's Heavy Metal, Winter drew from a diverse set of influences -- and, if rumors are to be believed, recording conditions -- for a wholly unique and individual statement.
