Cedric Burnside keeps the flame of the North Mississippi Hill Country blues burning through music that's simultaneously adventurous and rooted in the past. The grandson of the storied Delta bluesman R.L. Burnside -- he cut his teeth as a drummer in his grandfather's band -- Cedric developed a sinewy and lively combination of rural blues and juke joint R&B. Burnside unveiled this blend on 2018's Benton County Relic and kept expanding and refining his vision on a series of acclaimed, Grammy-winning albums that ran through 2024's Hill Country Love.
