Latin pop pinger Cristian Castro released his Grammy Award-nominated debut, Agua Nueva, at age 17.
∙ His first No. 1 single, “Nunca Voy a Olvidarte,” won Pop Song of the Year at both the 1994 Billboard Latin Music Awards and Lo Nuestro Awards.
∙ On the Spanish-language version of Michael Jackson’s 9/11 charity single, “What More Can I Give,” Castro sang alongside Carlos Santana, Gloria Estefan, and Mariah Carey.
∙ Irish boy band Westlife duetted with him on an updated version of their chart-topping single “Flying Without Wings,” from their album Unbreakable – The Greatest Hits Volume 1.
