Singer, songwriter, producer, and guitarist Yeek arose from South Florida with a singular mishmash of indie rock, soul, hip-hop, and other sounds.
• Yeek was born in New Jersey to a Filipino American family. He moved to Naples, Florida, when he was nine or 10 and created the name Yeek in middle school.
• At one point in his youth, he was in a band that played music for a Catholic church group.
• In 2015, he released his debut project, Love Slacker, followed by 2017’s Sebastian, inspired by his move to Los Angeles.
• The artist’s six-song 2019 project IDK WHERE features fellow South Florida riser Dominic Fike.
