With his clever, quotable lyrics, rapper and producer Xanman has helped to popularize the off-kilter DMV (D.C., Maryland, Virginia) flow.
• The Maryland native was exposed to music at an early age. Inspired by an uncle who played drums for Chuck Brown, a legendary figure in D.C.’s go-go music scene, Xanman took up the drums and began rapping at the age of five.
• By the time that he was 11, Xanman had learned Pro Tools and begun recording music.
• Xanman dropped his debut project, Finesse Lord, in 2013. He’s since released more than three-dozen additional mixtapes, earning praise from artists like Lil Yachty and Rico Nasty.
