Cellist Zlatomir Fung is one of the brightest new stars of his instrument internationally. He was a rare American winner of the cello division at the International Tchaikovsky Competition in Russia. Fung has already toured in many countries as a concerto soloist and recitalist. In 2025, he released his debut album, Fantasies, with pianist Richard Fu; the album featured operatic paraphrases, including one based on Leoš Janáček's Jenůfa and composed by Fung himself.
