Zynakal could have had it easy coming up: he’s the nephew of Zamani Slam, a close friend of superstars like Ismail Izzani and proved his mettle as a songwriter as his own brand of melodic emo rap got him views by the millions. But then came a difficult and very public mental health battle as the rapper, born Muhammad Raziq Rosli, landed himself in headline-making hot water prior to a bipolar diagnosis. His 2019 collab with Yonnyboii, “Sakit”, served as an affecting apology and powerfully reintroduced the rapper as a mental health advocate.
