Iconoclastic Saint Petersburg troupe Samoe Bolshoe Prostoe Chislo (The Biggest Prime Number) defy categorisation. They've been creating their own blend of genre-obliterating music since their 2008 eponymous debut album. Melding toy instruments, analogue synths and elements of IDM with spare, guitar-based indie and abstract hip-hop, SBPC have garnered awards for their originality from Russia's GQ, Billboard and Time Out, among others. Frontman Kirill Ivanov's earnest lyrics and spoken-word delivery breathe both humility and charm into this experimental Russian ensemble's eclectic songs.
