Launched by brothers Nicolas and Frédéric Boisnard in 2004, Archimède plays vividly bright pop-rock with a Gallic flair. Their songs are driven by sharp guitar arrangements and a bedrock rhythm worthy of vintage Beatles; on "Lete revient" they add a bluesy harmonica for good measure. For "Je prends" the band takes flight with a melody that ascends with each verse and Nicolas' unbelievably catchy chorus. With the brothers' refined lyricism and topical themes, Archimède captures the vagaries of postmillennial French life.
