German nature enthusiast (and erstwhile park ranger) Dominik Eulberg injects a dose of the organic world into his lilting and meditative techno, layering the sounds of cooing frogs or babbling streams into the deep background of meditative club cuts for Cocoon and Traum Schallplatten. Eulberg uses kickdrums as a heartbeat and snares as a loving shoulder tap to gently propel warm, well-thought-out albums like 2011's melancholic Diorama and 2007's quirky Heimische Gefilde, both shot through with documentary-style vocal interludes that would make David Attenborough proud.
