Formed by then-busker Glen Hansard in 1990, The Frames drew inspiration from the streets of Dublin, developing a knack for soaring, poignant rock songs that not only tug at the heartstrings, but play them beautifully. They've come a long way since those humble beginnings, adapting their explosive folk-rock sound for big stages, and receiving international acclaim for Hansard's Oscar-winning co-write with Marketa Irglova, “Falling Slowly” (featured in 2006's Once). Throughout their ascent, they've maintained the irrepressible energy of Hansard's Grafton Street days.
