Japanese alt-rockers ULFULS have been busting out high-energy jams since 1988, their livewire amalgamations invoking multitudes of musical influences. The Osaka-based band began building a cult following with bracing lo-fi garage cuts like "Ii Onna" before folding in rockabilly and funk influences for hits like "Guts Daze!!", and rounded out the '90s with a mellower, melody-centred sound that cemented their lasting appeal. ULFULS continue to adopt any or all of these styles in each of their albums, injecting them with their trademark vigour and wicked sense of humour.
