Eiza González stars alongside John Krasinski and Natalie Portman in the Apple Original Film Fountain of Youth, an epic action-adventure about two siblings on a global heist to find life-changing treasure. The movie’s high-energy thrills and family fun are exactly what González captures in this playlist of songs she listened to while preparing for her role of Esme. “Music is something that has always been a ginormous part of my life, so using music as a vessel to transport into a mental state has always been incredibly important for the buildup of my characters,” she tells Apple Music. It kind of gave me this energy that I felt while being there. Bangkok can be incredibly modern, but simultaneously cool and edgy with a lot of history.” Dave Brubeck, “Take Five” “I really enjoy jazz. I think about Guy Ritchie and there’s this sort of ‘soundtrack-y’ sense to his style of film that really sticks with me, and I feel like in this movie the look, the style, has a lot of Dave Brubeck in it. It’s [a] good ‘vibe-y’ but sexy sort of song, and I think that she has a sort of sexy relationship with Luke. And she’s so confident and nonchalant and calm and collected. I enjoyed listening to that song before [filming].” Toto, “Africa” “I would listen to ‘Africa’ when I was young, and I would listen to it with my dad quite a lot. This movie reminds me a lot of the type of movies that I would watch with my father. Music and film was our love language between us, and [Fountain of Youth] is such a family-driven movie.”
