Formed in the early ‘90s as Western alternative rock was taking off among Taiwanese youth, Quarterback mixes grunge, punk, and hard rock sounds with their country's own working-class taike style. Their songs cover the spectrum of alternative rock, from speedy metal-inspired numbers to introspective, guitar-heavy tracks recalling their British contemporaries Radiohead, as well as power ballads that spotlight lead singer Spark Chen's raw, emotional vocals.
