L.A. beatmaker Daedelus has shape-shifted his sound from album to album; the only clear thread connecting his releases is a spirited, wide-eyed sense of adventurousness. “Order of the Golden Dawn” dreamily mixes bossa nova and downtempo beats with Laura Darlington's gentle vocals, while lullaby-like chimes plink and pluck amid the murmuring samples of “Experience.” But Daedelus also knows how to work with more stable rhythms, dribbling melted drums and dramatic strings over the MF DOOM collaboration “Impending DOOM.”
