It’s clear why they have such a strong reputation for exploring the delicate confluence of house, techno, new wave and electro—as well as for their blistering live sets. They can mash up synth-pop backbeats with hushed deep-house vocals (“Last Dance”) as deftly as they slip vista-widening synthwave into a film soundtrack (“The Frolic Spleen”). And they deliver thumping, club-ready bangers (“Waiting for a Sign”) just as easily.
