 One day at a time

 When he stops in to see his AA friends

 But he’s got demons he can’t lose

 Sometimes he thinks hell what’s the use

 They’re probably gonna catch me in the end

 He says damn this rain

 Damn that war

 Just walked out that door

 Sometimes this life

 Is just too painful

 Damn this whiskey

 Well they’re never there when he needs them

 And wonders if he wonders if they see him 

 Every time he takes another drink

 And with each and every swallow 

 He prays Jesus take this bottle and pour what’s left of it down the sink
