Breaking into the mainstream off the back of an MTV reality show in 2019, hip-hop crusader Arpan Kumar Chandel—better known as King—has risen through the ranks of Indian pop, all the while garnering a massive fanbase. On his third full-length album, Champagne Talk, he sounds fresher than ever, exploring an array of sounds such as the stripped-down sunny beats he spits flirty bars over in “OOPS”. Other highlights include the artist’s passionately sonorous vocals on love song “Maan Meri Jaan” and the radio-friendly title track, a laidback bilingual earworm with a chorus that begs repeat listens.
