Some collabs just get better over time. Toronto-based Punjabi artists Bir and Daaku first made an impact in the hip-hop scene together in 2022 with their singles “Kaafir” and “Divine”—both crafted alongside the creative Dhanju. Since then, it’s been fireworks every time singer and songwriter Bir and producer Daaku have hit the studio. Their debut EP, FOR THE RECORD, continued that trend, skittering through seductive cuts like “Members Only” and delving into trap on the serpentine “Unreachable”. Bir taps Arsh Heer for “Majha Trap” but Daaku helms production on the other four tracks, including house-driven “Zulfa”.
