Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. Sitting in Grandma’s living room after one of her parties, watching everyone dance to Guilty by Barbara Streisand. She held these big boozy parties and the lounge would flood with smoke and joviality. Even as I kid I knew how brilliant that song was!
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Kate Bush, The Kick Inside Portishead, Dummy Thom Yorke, Suspiria (Music for the Luca Guadagnino Film) The Kick Inside by Kate Bush - it’s so intricate both sonically and lyrically, and so theatrical. Dummy by Portishead - it embodies the atmosphere I was so drawn to as a teenager. Thom Yorke’s Suspiria, for its cinema, mystery and sophistication.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Probably the experience of recording Transparent Things in such an iconic place with such an incredible producer and team. It felt unreal and feels like a dream in hindsight.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? So much left on my bucket list! I’d love to tour America, and Asia… and to keep recording and writing for the rest of my life.
