In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. Both new to Bluegrass and Old Time music, we met at a jam in Boston. We became friends, eventually roommates, and after many house jams, officially became a band to play the MA Walking Tour, where we hiked and played shows for 2 weeks.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Billy Joel, The Essential Billy Joel (Limited Edition) Gillian Welch, The Harrow & The Harvest Various Artists, Galax, Virginia Old Fiddler's Convention These represent the genres that bind us. We took great influence from Gillian's sound and songwriting early on. The bluegrass-tinged Old Time of Galax, VA is central to our traditional side. Billy Joel is essential for long drives and hook writing.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Old Buffalo” We've been playing this song for years and aren't sick of it yet. It's got a fun, light vibe, but has a deeper meaning when you sit with the lyrics. It's peak Cowboy Existentialism. We offer an alternate version to our mailing list subscribers.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Playing on stage with and inflatable hot dog at the Ohio Theatre in Madison, TN. How can you possibly top that?
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? We've played in the US, Canada, Australia, UK, and Germany. Hoping to add more to that list. It would be a dream to play the Ryman!
