Landing a viral TikTok hit just six months into his career, London-based rapper Hako marks one of the U.K.’s first main talents within the pluggnb subgenre. Moving from his home city of Istanbul, Turkey to London at a young age, the rapper made his debut with "So What?" in January 2023, before issuing his debut EP Seasons later that year. The EP contained the rapper's breakout hit, "Listen!" and after a viral moment on TikTok, the track soon had over 40 million streams. From there, the rapper continued to concentrate on pluggnb and trap styles through late 2023 before issuing a second EP, IRIS, in early 2024.
