Jeff and Jim Reinholz formed Hoover's G String in 1995 and soon after released a self-titled debut CD. The Washington, D.C., band performed around town at such clubs as 15 Minutes and Club Asylum, along with sporadic East Coast dates in such cities as New York, Philadelphia, and Chapel Hill. Hoover's G String released Gargle in 1998, an album that found its way onto college radio. Celebrated for its straightforward, unpretentious style of rock, the band licensed a few of its songs to MTV for use on the channel's Real World and Road Rules shows. For its next album, Crack (2002), Hoover's G String enlisted producer/engineer Steve Carr and drummer Bill Gatter. ~ Jason Birchmeier
