Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. Hailing from Southern California, JB Brown’s musical roots run deep. Raised in the shadow of the Sunset Strip, he cut his teeth in the early 2000s alt-rock scene, fronting X-Syndrome then began his Country music career in 2015.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Bob Marley & The Wailers, Legend – The Best Of Bob Marley & The Wailers Johnny Cash, At Folsom Prison (Live) Live Rush, Moving Pictures (Remastered) These 3 albums helped shape my love for music. Although I have many more that I go to. These 3 are by far some of my favorite.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Church Pew” Church Pew is the most revealing song I have ever written. I was in a very bad place when I wrote it and to this day it is still hard to do live. But the message is real and if just one person gets something positive from the song then I am blessed.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? One of my fondest memories was headlining the House of Blues in Anaheim, CA. It was a big night for me. I walk on stage and right there in the middle of the crowd was my Mom who flew out and surprised me.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I would love to play Red Rocks in Colorado and The Greek in Los Angeles.
