Jesse Ed Davis was a guitarist, songwriter, and producer, known primarily for session and touring work during the 1960s and 70s. He worked with Taj Mahal, Gene Clark, Albert King, Bob Dylan, John Lennon, Ringo Starr, George Harrison and B.B. King. On Jesse Davis, his 1970 solo debut, his sidemen included Ben Sidran, Eric Clapton, Alan White, and Leon Russell. In 1972, he issued Ululu, backed by a studio trio of Dr. John, Jim Keltner, and Donald "Duck" Dunn. Davis released Keep Me Comin' for Epic in '73, his final solo album. Davis formed Graffiti Band in 1985; their debut album, AKA Grafitti Man, was recorded in collaboration with poet and activist John Trudell.
