Rooted at the crossroads of aggressive metal and beat-driven hip-hop, Linkin Park became one of the most successful acts of the early 21st century by incorporating elements from hardcore rap, raucous punk, atmospheric electronic, and even polished pop stylings into their music. Months after the release of their seventh and final album with the founding lineup, frontman Chester Bennington passed away, closing a nearly two-decade first chapter that included five chart-topping albums and tens of millions of records sold worldwide. In 2024, they re-formed with a new singer (Emily Armstrong) and drummer (Colin Brittain), launching a world tour and releasing their eighth album, From Zero.
