Founded in Klagenfurt, Austria in 1991, the band Naked Lunch has consistently featured vocalist/guitarist Oliver Welter as a mainstay of the lineup. Beginning as an alternative rock outfit, the group recorded an EP and full-length album for the Big Store label and subsequently signed to Mercury, which released the band's second album, Superstardom, in 1997. Adding keyboardist and synthesizer player Stefan Deisenberger, Naked Lunch issued Love Junkies in 1999. After a hiatus, the band -- now incorporating electronics more heavily in its sound -- recorded its fourth full-length, Songs for the Exhausted. Naked Lunch recorded their next album, 2007's This Atom Heart of Ours, with drummer Alex Jezdinsky. Universalove arrived two years later, followed by 2011's Amerika and 2013's All Is Fever. ~ Dave Lynch
