In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. At age 4, I was mesmerized by my paternal grandmother playing classical piano by ear and told my parents I wanted to do THAT! She was so thrilled, she gifted her baby grand to me. That set my path as a passionate musician for the rest of my life!
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? James Taylor, JT Remastered Pierre Bensusan, Solilaï The Beatles, Abbey Road (Remastered) These are the three most profound early influences on my journey to find my voice as a fingerstyle guitarist. These albums are all rich in melody and harmony and challenged me to find a way to capture the essence of this music on a single guitar!
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “The High Life” This piece illustrates my passion to express the interplay between melody and counterpoint on a single guitar. Originally written for me guitar/flute ensemble, Meadowlark, this is a re-worked arrangement reducing the piece to two acoustic guitars.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Opening for Acoustic Alchemy in the Scottsdale Amphitheater releasing our first CD, Dance of the Sandpiper to a sold out audience of 2500. I was thrilled at the response we received from the audience and the lines waiting to purchase our CDs.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? My wish at this point in my long career of over 50 years, is to continue performing and recording for the rest of my life.
