Los Angeles singer, songwriter, and producer Shoffy—born Alex Shofler—began playing guitar and piano around age three, and was writing and producing music by 14. In 2016, he left his job as a Beverly Hills financial analyst to pursue music full-time. He burst onto the scene that year with the viral hit “Takes My Body Higher” featuring Lincoln Jesser. (His other collaborators include Sabrina Carpenter, Sam Farrar of Maroon 5, Julia Michaels, KREAM, Yuna, AC Slater, and more.) That same year, he released his debut EP, Somewhere Between Nostalgia and Paradise. The artist then launched his own label, Otherground Records, in 2017 and released his self-titled full-length debut. Shoffy’s success with a genre-bending mix of pop, R&B, and electronic beats—like on the 2025 album Aisle 14—proves his gamble to change careers paid off.
